Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
Whenver I am tempted,
Whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing,
When hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him,
From care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He cares for me;
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He cares for me.
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me.

i love that song. we (my mom, stand, I) driving on, listening to BBN when that song was playing. Stand was like "I want to play that song at my wedding." I said "do you mean you're funeral?"
Stand: No, wedding.
Mom: It's an encouraging song to lift us out from sadness.
Me: Yeah, man, just listen to lyrics. "Why should I feel discouraged?" If you're feeling this discouraged on your wedding, you may want to dump her at the alter.
Stand: I never thought it that way before. (Pauses) I still want it played at my wedding.
